My Writing Journey

Growing up in India, my love for stories began long before I ever held a book. My father, a fabulous storyteller, shared tales from our culture, life lessons wrapped in imagination, and bedtime adventures that stayed with me long after the lights were out. At the time, I didn’t have access to picture books — stories lived in people, in their voices, and in the way they made you feel.

When I became a mum, I wanted my daughters to grow up with stories too. That’s when I discovered the magic of picture books — how they could turn complex ideas, like emotions or big questions, into something so simple, visual, and meaningful for a child. I was fascinated by this world of storytelling where children could hold those stories in their hands and return to them for comfort, courage, or connection whenever they want.

That’s how my journey as a writer began — born from love, nostalgia, and a deep desire to nurture emotional intelligence and creativity in young minds. Every book I write is shaped by my own experiences, turning big ideas into simple, meaningful stories, with gentle messages I hope children will carry with them as they grow.
